The Avatar Project continues on... though I will be at Phish this weekend and in Costa Rica next week, so expect some digital delay loops.

The Perpetual Log (July)
Five Months
I didn't realize how dark the pictures were getting until recently, notice the sudden switch to daylight shots toward the end of the video.
It's interesting too, the pictures go slightly faster than the accordion tempo but a couple seconds in your brain seems to compensate for the delay and the tempo and the pictures appear to line up. I still can't tell if they actually do, or if it is in fact an illusion.

A Lesson in Present History
Don't let it pass you by! I failed to take a picture on June 12th, the day of the Ohio Phish show, due to traveling and not having a camera. This will never happen again. I am now the proud owner of a Fujifilm 8.2 megapixel pocket cam, the best camera eighty dollars will get you at Target, and I hereby promise to never miss a daily photo again.

One Hundred and Thirty Seven
I like writing numbers out in words.
(I missed one day, June 12th, the night of the Blossom Springs Ohio show. #fail. Never again!)

Thirty Six For Twenty Four
(click for detailed version)
Each of these were used for a twenty-four hour period. The first day is May 16th, the last is today.
I've been changing my Twitter profile picture everyday for the last forty days (save for two days of Phish and two days of afterglow). At first it was the Phish #Twibe 'Lope, care of @UNOlker and @strangedesign. Then last Tuesday I was invited to join the #RedEyeRoyalty blog, and with great honor have been incorporating the RedEye Royalty badge.

Vintage Future
I picked up my Polaroid camera, the Spirit 600, from the repair shop a couple weeks ago and found myself at the most recognized sculpture in Chicago. So I snapped a pic. Click.

Alaskan Wild Caught Salmon
I did a pure vegetarian diet from May 5th through my birthday, May 23rd, when I treated myself to a 6 oz. piece of Norwegian farm raised salmon. It was good. But eating it, I wondered, what does the bear eat? This is not the salmon a wild thing would munch on. I want bear food! I want my salmon straight from the river! I could see the bear, laughing at me, eating his delicious river salmon. So I stormed back into the grocery store the next day complaining about how farm raised salmon is fed corn and I demanded there should be the freshest of fresh bear food present at all groceries! And when I calmed down the kind fishmonger smiled and pointed and sure enough there it was. Alaskan wild caught salmon, the sign read, we scare the bears away so you don’t have to. So I bought some, nine dollars for eight ounces, nine dollars: I’m going to get you bears, I thought to myself. But I gotta say, it was good. Real good. And I smiled as I ate at my dining room table, surrounded by trees with the sound of the river. Fuck you bears. I won.

Just Keep Truckin' On
I've been changing my Twitter avatar everyday while incorporating the Phish Twibe logo (which I must give props to UNOlker for). Here are the first sixteen avatars I have created and used, each for a twenty-four hour period. I realized on Twitter we link our avatars to our account personality. The picture represents who we are on Twitter and makes it easier for us to locate specific tweets. I figured a fun way to deviate from that would be to change my avatar everyday, making it harder for any one person to locate my tweets. All in the name of fun and chaos!

Five Shots Two Months One Pond
Been taking pictures from the same spot of North Pond in Lincoln Park off of Fullerton in Chicago. Here are the first five shots so far, covering the middle of March to the middle of May: Post Winter > Spring. Though the May shot from yesterday is borderline Summer, do I dare: Sprimmer? Summing? weak.

Wrigley Field 5.17.10
I go to lots of Cubs games living right down the street, and I take lots of pictures. As of the moment I don't really have a "real" camera, like an SLR or even a decent pocket cam, so I end up taking pictures from my 1.3 megapixel camera phone (and they come out okay, most of the pictures on this blog are from my phone).
Here are two shots from Wrigley on Monday, May 15th, a night game against the Rockies. It was very cold and windy, as it's been in Chicago all Spring. The Cubs won in the 11th with a walk off home run from Aramis Ramirez. I put this together on Photoshop.

head for the eye of whatever it is that pulls you to the edge!
always...
i sit in my living room a lot listening to cars pass by and the wind rattling the blinds, and then I realize I'm physically sitting in moving time and space. i can feel time moving forward. then I hurriedly change into board shorts and jump on my bike and ride into the loop where i disembark and stand beneath the shadow of brick and steel waiting for any kind of overwhelmingly visceral experience to occur... but nothing ever happens. so i keep riding, heading for the eye of whatever it is that pulls me to the edge.
